Christer Tepper

Born in 1981, Christer Tepper began his violin studies at the age of three and gave his first public performance when he was four years old.  He received his early musical training in violin, studying with artists and professors at various universities and colleges throughout Canada, including scholarships to the Young Artist Performance Academy at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto where he studied primarily with Joan Barrett.

After studies as a scholarship student with Oleh Krysa at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, he moved to Germany under the mentorship of Rudolf Gaehler, pursuing his violin studies both there and in Italy.  He has also studied with Martin Beaver, Pinchas Zukerman, David Cerone, Sally Thomas, Dr. Lise Elson and Jose Luis Garcia.  In addition to taking honors at a variety of music competitions, Christer has appeared on CBC radio and has made numerous television appearances and recordings.  He has also enjoyed several appearances as soloist with orchestras performing to critical acclaim.  His playing has been described as “deeply felt”, “sparkling with pristine intonation” and of “brilliant virtuosity”.

Currently, Christer lives outside of Charlotte, North Carolina together with his wife Gwen and sons  Jacob and Sam.  Christer launched Tepper Ministries International in the United States within the Full Gospel Fellowship, and especially enjoys ministering and performing together with his father, Siegfried.  Since 1994 he has performed hundreds of programs in concert halls, churches, embassies, schools and conferences.  His travels have taken him across Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia, and together with his father has made several recordings.  Christer finds great joy and fulfillment in ministry, by sharing his God-given talents within the body of Christ and using music as a tool to reach people for Christ.
